If you aren’t sure, give me a call or fill out my contact form. I’d be happy to schedule a free 15-minute consultation call to learn more about your concerns. If it sounds like therapy might be helpful to you, we can schedule an initial assessment (intake) appointment to complete a full evaluation of any mental health conditions and decide on appropriate treatment recommendations.

There are many big transitions in the young adult years - you’re done with high school, or you might be moving away from home for the first time, in your first “adult” relationship, or starting a new career. All of these big transitions can sometimes feel overwhelming. Therapy can help you learn more about yourself and how to make choices that feel meaningful to you. Sometimes we need an outside perspective, and therapy is a great space to untangle any doubts, worries, or anxieties about your next step in life.

It depends. If you are on your parents’ insurance plan and use your insurance benefits to cover the cost of therapy, your parents may be able to see services provided via Explanation of Benefits documents. These documents usually show the service provided (e.g., psychotherapy) and the name of the provider. Whether you are using your parents’ insurance plan or not, I will never share your personal treatment information without getting your written permission first.

The young adult years, typically ages 18 to 25, are full of change and new opportunities that are unique to your age group. Oftentimes, young adult therapy focuses on exploring who you are or want to be, major life decisions, and thinking about your future. At Meadowlight Counseling, this means using exercises tailored to young adults to manage anxiety and depression while learning about yourself and what makes your life feel meaningful.
